La lesione cerebrale nel premessa<\/strong>neonato nato in et\u00e0 matura: stelo<\/strong> La rete di ricerca sulla rigenerazione cellulare, PREMSTEM, \u00e8 costituita da un gruppo di clinici, ricercatori, gruppi di difesa delle parti interessate e da un partner industriale con una consolidata esperienza in neonatologia e nello sviluppo di farmaci. Su scala globale, ogni anno circa 15 milioni di bambini nascono pretermine (prima della 37a settimana di gestazione) e la nostra ricerca mira a creare una nuova terapia per trattare le lesioni cerebrali associate alla nascita troppo prematura. Attualmente non esistono trattamenti per riparare questa lesione, nota come encefalopatia della prematurit\u00e0 (EOP). Stiamo studiando il potenziale delle cellule staminali prelevate dal tessuto del cordone ombelicale donato per trattare l'EOP e la nostra ricerca si articola intorno a tre domande chiave: Quando somministrare le cellule staminali? Quante ne dovremmo somministrare? Come somministrarle (per via intranasale o endovenosa)?
