L'incontinenza fecale \u00e8 una condizione comune. Pur non essendo pericolosa per la vita, \u00e8 classificata come una malattia dall'Organizzazione Mondiale della Sanit\u00e0 (OMS), che compromette seriamente la vita quotidiana e la produttivit\u00e0 degli individui affetti e delle loro famiglie e comporta un onere sostanziale per i servizi sanitari europei.
