Cette approche a pour objectif d'am\u00e9liorer la survie cellulaire, de favoriser la r\u00e9paration tissulaire et, \u00e0 terme, d'am\u00e9liorer les r\u00e9sultats en mati\u00e8re de continence chez les patients atteints de cette pathologie complexe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\"><br \/>Chaque parcours de soins commence par une biopsie musculaire visant \u00e0 pr\u00e9lever les cellules n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 la fabrication du traitement personnalis\u00e9. Ces cellules sont ensuite trait\u00e9es et pr\u00e9par\u00e9es en vue de leur implantation, avant d'\u00eatre r\u00e9inject\u00e9es au patient dans l'un des centres cliniques participants.<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\"><br \/>Le traitement de ces six patients marque une \u00e9tape d\u00e9cisive dans le passage du projet AMELIE du stade de d\u00e9veloppement en laboratoire \u00e0 la pratique clinique. Il t\u00e9moigne \u00e9galement de l'\u00e9troite collaboration entre les chirurgiens, les scientifiques, les \u00e9quipes de fabrication et le personnel charg\u00e9 des essais cliniques \u00e0 travers tout le Royaume-Uni.<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\"><br \/>Au fur et \u00e0 mesure que l'essai avancera, l'\u00e9quipe continuera \u00e0 suivre de pr\u00e8s les r\u00e9sultats afin d'\u00e9valuer la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 du traitement et d'identifier les premiers signes d'efficacit\u00e9.<\/div>\n<div class=\"x_elementToProof\"><br \/>Nous avons h\u00e2te de vous faire part des prochaines avanc\u00e9es de cette \u00e9tude pionni\u00e8re au fur et \u00e0 mesure de son d\u00e9roulement.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><em><!-- \/divi:paragraph --><\/em><\/p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to share an important milestone in the AMELIE project, which is developing a novel regenerative treatment for faecal incontinence. To date, four patients have been treated at The Royal London Hospital in London, and two patients have been treated at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff as part of the ongoing clinical trial. This marks a significant step forward in the evaluation of a new cell-based therapy that aims to restore sphincter function by using autologous skeletal muscle-derived cells attached to implantable microcarriers. The approach is designed to improve cell survival, support tissue repair, and ultimately improve continence outcomes for patients living with this challenging condition. Each patient pathway begins with a muscle biopsy to collect the cells needed to manufacture the personalised therapy. These cells are then processed and prepared for implantation, before being delivered back to the patient at one of the participating clinical sites. The treatment of these six patients represents a key milestone in the translation of AMELIE from laboratory development into clinical practice. It also reflects the close collaboration between surgeons, scientists, manufacturing teams, and clinical trial staff across the UK. The team at The Royal London Hospital implanted healthy muscle cells attached to microscopic beads in humans for the first time. The study aims to treat faecal incontinence caused by childbirth injury.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The first patients had been biopsied two weeks prior to this in Cardiff at the University Hospital of Wales.<\/p>\n<p>These are important milestones for the progression of this groundbreaking treatment.
